Music Hall Academy: First Summer Workshop Performance

On June 25, 2018, The Music Hall Academy kicked off its very first week of theater arts workshops for kids entering grades 2-12. With a theme of “legends”, kids exercised new muscles in all areas of the theater process, as they created the characters, story, dialogue, costumes, lighting and music to two stories based on myths and fairy tales. The week culminated in two special performances on The Music Hall stage for friends and families of Academy participants. The younger kids (grades 2-3) performed Little Red Riding Hood: Music Hall Style! which was a modern story of betrayal, friendship and dodging paparazzi, featuring the beloved characters in the original tale. The older kids (grades 4-8) presented a fresh and fun version of the Greek epic poem The Odyssey. It was amazing to see these centuries-old stories brought to life on the historic Music Hall stage.  Photos of the Legends Week finale performance courtesy of Tim Grajek of Margaret Fox Photography.
