A little over a year ago, an order went out from Albany that all theaters would have to close immediately in the interest of public safety. Perhaps it was a good thing that we didn’t realize at the time just how long this shutdown would last. A year later, we have witnessed the unimaginable hardship the pandemic has inflicted on our society, through human suffering and loss, as well as financial challenges.
We have also experienced just how much love our community holds for The Music Hall and it gives us hope for our future. So many of you have renewed your memberships, many at a higher level than before, made donations, and committed to continued sponsorships. You are the reason our historic, nonprofit theater has been able to withstand our closure this long.
Our hope is that a more robust 21/22 season will be possible and we’ve got a SPECTACULAR line-up of artists in the works. Currently, we anticipate we’ll be able to offer some limited attendance events in late spring or summer, and return to normal programming as soon as we are permitted to do so.
In accordance with New York State’s Department of Health guidelines, we’re also preparing our theater for your return, including upgrades to our HVAC system. We want you, the artists, staff, and our amazing volunteers to be safe when we’re able to enjoy the magic of live performing arts together again. We hope to welcome you back to The Music Hall soon!
With your continued support we will be able to make it through to reopening. Please consider making a donation today.
