Angie Faieq is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Relations, has a background in arts education, mentorship and event management and joined the Music Hall staff in the beginning of 2024. She coordinates with Executive Director Bjorn Olsson, Academy Director Kevin J Kearins, creative and production teams, staff, teachers and students to ensure everything runs smoothly. In 2018, she self-published a novel and has continued her writing journey to date. Her mission is to ensure equal and inclusive arts education for all.

Harp Lessons

Mia Theodoratus is a curious and adventurous creator of sound using harps, lyres and electronics. She has degrees from UT, Austin and CALARTS. In addition to the Music Hall Academy and Mozartina Conservatory, she teaches at the Irish Arts Center and Sarah Lawrence College. After moving to NYC, Mia went electric and played legendary venues like CBGB’s, Coney Island High, Jackie 60, Mothers and the Cooler. Her improvising skills coupled with her classical chops led her to play with the Citizen’s Band at Art Basil, Gelatin (music for Bunter Abend-Golden Gate), duo with Adam Dugas (Dueling Harps performed at Disney Hall, Abron Arts Center, NYC) and LifeBall in Vienna. Performance Highlights include Patty’s day concert for President Barak Obama, National Shakespeare’s Oedipus Athens, Greece, Whitney Biennial, Butch Morris’s Skyscrapers. Compositions- Flight of the Conchords and Rubicon on AMC, lyre on TedEd on Sapho. Her newest adventures are Harps in the Age of Enlightment (single action and digital harp salon concerts) and Greek lyre.

Ballet

Lisa Lockwood danced with American Ballet Theatre for ten years, subsequently with Feld Ballet, and was an original cast member of Phantom of the Opera. A short list of the choreographers she has personally worked with include Anthony Tudor, George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Natalia Makarova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Glen Tetley, Eliot Feld and Sir Kenneth McMillan.

Currently, she teaches at Ballet Academy East. She worked at Steps on Broadway in New York in the open program from 1998-2024, and was a faculty member and Ballet Chair for the School at Steps. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Ballet Hispanico, Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theatre, Juilliard, Sarah Lawrence, High School For The Performing Arts, and as a guest teacher all over the world: The Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Ballet School (Denmark), Kaatsbaan Dance Center (New York), Juilliard, Joffrey Ballet, and Edmonton Ballet. She worked closely with Martine Van Hamel for 16 years in the Summer Ballet Intensive at Kaatsbaan. Additionally, she teaches and coaches private students who are motivated to bring their ballet proficiency to the highest possible level.

Mackenzie Wolcott is a NYC-based performer, teaching artist, and choreographer who recently graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre from West Virginia University. Originally from Dayton, OH, Mackenzie has had the opportunity to teach with multiple children’s theatres all over the country, sharing her love of theatre with the next generation. Some of her favorite credits include Next to Normal (Natalie), Legally Blonde (Serena), Joseph…Dreamcoat (Choreographer) and 13: the Musical (Choreographer). When she’s not onstage, Mackenzie enjoys fiber arts, reading in Central Park, and once a week she hops online and has virtual adventures with her friends playing DND as a swashbuckling pirate captain named Dylan. She is so excited to dive into this year!

Nicholas Tinger is very excited and happy to be working with The Music Hall Academy! After graduating from Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers and completing two years at Berklee College of Music, COVID and the pandemic sent him home to seek out new opportunities. He was working at a Yorktown Heights restaurant when he met Kevin Kearins one night and was asked to start his new journey with KJK Productions and subsequently with the Music Hall. He has musically directed many shows with both KJK Productions and The Music Hall including Wonka Jr, Rent, Peter Pan Jr, Grease Jr, Frozen Jr, Annie Jr, Matilda Jr, The Addams Family Jr, vacation camps and 13, The Musical. He is an accompanist for the St. Patrick’s Church in Yorktown Heights.

Joyce Balint

Violin Lessons & Mandolin Lessons

Joyce Balint holds a B.M. from Manhattan School of Music and is the mandolin soloist with the Metropolitan Opera and New York Philharmonic Orchestras. She has performed as a violinist and mandolinist with many musical organizations including The Paris Opera, Boston Symphony, New York City Opera, Caramoor Festival Orchestra, the Amore Opera, Dallas Opera and the American Symphony. She studied with Alfred Krips and Einar Hansen (former members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), Joseph Szegeti and Janos Starker (master classes), Roman Tottenberg (orchestra technique) and Robert Bloom (chamber music ensemble technique). “Joyce Balint shines in string recital” was the headline of The New York Times review of her Carnegie Hall Recital Hall debut.

Teens Acting

Verna Lowe is a professional, well-respected acting teacher and coach who has been working with students in the tri-state area for the past 15 years.

Her students have booked work in film (Adam Sandler’s The Week Of, indie Braid, upcoming Vanishing Shore), television (Law and Order SVU, FBI Most Wanted), theater (National Tour of Fun Home), voiceovers (Nick Jr Bossy Bear) and commercials. Verna’s audition coaching has also helped her students secure admission to many colleges, conservatories and summer programs such as NYU Tisch School of the Arts, The New School, The Boston Conservatory, Circle in the Square Professional Acting Program, University of Michigan, Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Norwalk Conservatory, Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Penn State and Interlochen Arts Camp. While working as a teaching artist in the New York City school system, it was her honor to work with Daniel Sklar, bringing his critically acclaimed “Playmaking” program to third grade classrooms.

Verna began her professional acting career with a then fledgling HBO Studios while still in high school. After graduating from Union College in Schenectady, she attended the Circle in the Square Professional Theatre Program in New York City and performed regionally with The Williamstown Theater Festival and Off Broadway in numerous productions with The Willow Cabin Theater Company and The Oscar Hammerstein Center. She has appeared in several films, television shows and commercials and is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG/AFTRA.

Lauryn Ciardullo: As an original cast member of Disney’s hit Broadway show Aladdin, Lauryn understudied Princess Jasmine and other roles in the award-winning production. She has performed on the 2014 Tony Awards, The View, Good Morning America, Tamron Hall and the Disney Singalong on ABC. Before making her Broadway debut in Aladdin, Lauryn toured the United States with notable productions including West Side Story, A Chorus Line, The Addams Family, The Wizard of Oz, The Wedding Singer and The Little Mermaid. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Purchase College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Purdue University.

Evan Paquette, widely known as “Magic Evan”, has appeared on NBC’s Universal Kids and at over 3,000 special events. Named among the “Best Magicians for Kids in NY” by publications like TimeOut, RedTricycle, and CBS New York, Evan earned a Masters Degree in Educational Theater from NYU and taught magic in classrooms and community settings for over a decade. He has partnered with dynamic organizations such as Rosie’s Theater Kids, The Leadership Program, LeAp, and Inside Broadway to use magic as a tool for sparking his students’ creativity, curiosity, and confidence.
