
Verna Lowe
Teens Acting
Verna Lowe is a professional, well-respected acting teacher and coach who has been working with students in the tri-state area for the past 15 years.
Her students have booked work in film (Adam Sandler’s The Week Of, indie Braid, upcoming Vanishing Shore), television (Law and Order SVU, FBI Most Wanted), theater (National Tour of Fun Home), voiceovers (Nick Jr Bossy Bear) and commercials. Verna’s audition coaching has also helped her students secure admission to many colleges, conservatories and summer programs such as NYU Tisch School of the Arts, The New School, The Boston Conservatory, Circle in the Square Professional Acting Program, University of Michigan, Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Norwalk Conservatory, Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Penn State and Interlochen Arts Camp. While working as a teaching artist in the New York City school system, it was her honor to work with Daniel Sklar, bringing his critically acclaimed “Playmaking” program to third grade classrooms.
Verna began her professional acting career with a then fledgling HBO Studios while still in high school. After graduating from Union College in Schenectady, she attended the Circle in the Square Professional Theatre Program in New York City and performed regionally with The Williamstown Theater Festival and Off Broadway in numerous productions with The Willow Cabin Theater Company and The Oscar Hammerstein Center. She has appeared in several films, television shows and commercials and is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG/AFTRA.
