Please become familiar with the policies below so you may fully enjoy all that the Music Hall Academy has to offer.
Semesters
- Fall Semester: September 8, 2025 – February 1, 2026
- Spring Semester: February 2, 2026 – June 28, 2026
- Summer Semester: June 29, 2026 – August 30, 2026
- The Music Hall Academy follows The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns Calledanr – lessons and classes will not take place on days when the Public Schools are closed unless the teacher notifies the students that he/she will teach.
How To Register

Accepted Forms of Payment
- You may register online with American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa.
- Please contact us is you prefer to pay by cash or check. A fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks
- All payments are due before the start of classes, lessons and productions.
Pay-What-You-Can
- The cost for the program is the “Full Fee”. If you are not able to afford the Full Fee, we offer a “Pay-What-You-Can” policy and you may choose the amount that enables you to participate. Please contact us at academy@tarrytownmusichall.org if you require financial assistance.
- If you ARE ABLE to afford the Full Fee, we ask you to PLEASE select this amount so that the nonprofit Music Hall’s Academy programs may be sustainable.
- If you elect to pay more than the Full Fee, the amount over the Full Fee will be considered a tax-deductible donation and will go towards our Education Fund so that we may continue offering performing arts programs to young people. Please click the donation button when prompted during registration.
Scholarships
A limited number of partial and full scholarships for private music lessons are offered to students who demonstrate extraordinary motivation, skill and/or talent and who are in need of financial assistance. Apply here.
Payment Plans
Please contact us if you require a payment plan and would like to pay over a period of time.
Trial Lessons & Classes
- For most classes, you may take a trial lesson or class at cost before registering. Afterwards, if you sign up for the class, the amount you paid for the trial class will be deducted from the tuition.
- If you join the semester after classes have already started, classes will be prorated.
Attendance
Regular attendance is very important. Not only do absences affect your child’s learning, but they also impact the other students in the class or rehearsal. No absences are allowed during dress rehearsals or performances.
Punctuality
Please drop off and pick up your children at the designated times.
Make-Up Classes
If you miss a class, you are welcome to come to the same class on another day, pending availability. Teachers and schedules may change periodically and all classes cancelled by the Music Hall Academy will be made up.
Cancellations By Students
- Music and voice lessons require a 24-hour cancellation notice. The student will be charged for all lessons cancelled after this time.
- Please notify us in good time if you will miss a class so that a student seeking a makeup class may have the spot.
Inclement Weather
In most cases, we follow the school cancellation policy of the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified by email and the class will be made up.
Refunds
All sales are final and no refunds will be issued. We will offer credits (which do not expire) on a discretionary basis.
Class Placement
Students will be placed in classes that are tailored for their age group and skill level. Students must reach the required class age or grade by the first day of class.
Dress Code
- We ask that students wear age-appropriate apparel that is easy to move in.
- Closed-toe shoes are required and no flip-flops are allowed.
- Hair should be combed and pulled away from the face.
- No gum is permitted.
- Long leggings are required for aerial silks classes.
- We require that no jewelry is worn during dress rehearsals, performances, and dance and aerial silks classes.
Clean-Up
Students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and properly disposing of their trash and recyclables.
Lost & Found
The Music Hall Academy is not responsible for lost items. There is an Academy Lost & Found bin in the Music Hall box office. The contents of the box are donated on July 1 and January 1.
