New Educational Building: The Hillcrest Theater

On December 10, 2025, The Music Hall purchased The Hillcrest Theater located at 57 Main Street, also known as The Veteran’s Memorial Building for the purpose of establishing a Center For Performing Arts Education. The Hillcrest Theater was built in 1912 as a movie theater and was purchased by former Music Hall owner Robert Goldblatt in the 1920’s, presumably to squash the competition. Goldblatt sold the building to the Veterans in the 1950’s for $1. We were hoping it would be returned to the Music Hal for the same amount, but no such luck – it passed to Mt Kisco’s Diamond Properties, which sold the building to the Music Hall for $1 with many zeros behind it. The building will require about $2 million of work until it is operable. Naming rights are up for grabs!

We grateful to long-time Music Hall Member Peter Fisch, who is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Manhattan’s Paul Weiss Law Firm. Paul Weiss donated ALL time and services of Peter and his colleague Konstantine Tettonis, making it possible for the Music Hall to acquire The Hillcrest Theater. We would also like to thank Michael J Roberts Esq, Chief Operating Officer of Royal Abstract Corporation for assisting with the Hillcrest Theater transaction. Photo: Susan Nagib
